Southend Dance Centre was established in 1994 and currently uses 2 studios, one in Leigh on Sea, and one in Hockley, both in Essex.
SDC specialises in Ballroom & Latin American Dancing.
Brett & Sally Vernon are the principles of SDC, and even though they are 37 & 34 respectively, have over 50 years of dancing experience between them. Having competed for most of their lives, Brett and Sally continued their competitions as Professionals, gaining many accolades, including the following;
Essex Professional Latin American Champions
North East of England Professional Latin American Champions
Finalists in the UK Closed Professional Latin American Championships
Finalists in The Hong Kong Open Professional Latin American Championships
Semi Finalists in the British National Professional Latin American Championships
Whilst dancing as professionals, they competed with most of the couples now currently seen on Strictly Come Dancing and Matthew & Nicole Cutler were once Brett & Sallys teachers!
Brett & Sally have also won nearly 16 years worth of Pro-Ams dancing with pupils.

Brett & Sally currently hold their Licentiate Professional Qualification in both Ballroom & Latin American Styles and are both CRB Certified.
Southend Dance Centre and its pupils have also won hundreds of medals and trophies at various competitions across the country including 23 1st places at The UKA Medallist of the Year Competition in Blackpool in October 2011, gaining an excellent reputation in the dancing world.
