If you prefer the A127, then take the A127 out of Southend towards Rayleigh. Just past the junction at Kent Elms, turn left into Eastwood Road North (Esso Garage on the corner). When you reach the next roundabout, take the 2nd exit (turn right) and then turn immediately left into Elmsleigh Drive. Carry on and go straight across at the traffic lights.
